The Performing Arts Department at Maclay School has several offerings for students who are interested in instrumental music. Students may choose between Beginner Band (fifth grade), Middle School Band, or Upper School Band. Students also have opportunities for participation in the Maclay Jazz Ensemble (U.S) and the Maclay Pep Band.
Maclay’s String Orchestra is open to students in 3rd- 12th grade. The Beginning Strings Club meets after school on Tuesdays from 3:00 – 3:45. Any student who would like to learn to play the violin, viola, cello, or string bass is welcome to join. Students who already have experience playing these instruments are encouraged to join the Concert Orchestra Club, which meets after school on Mondays from 3:00 – 4:15.
